I actually have not written a scene with Christine just yet oops, so I apologize for the verrrry choppy writing. Context: Estelle keeps reappearing to Christine extremely consistently, having never aged, so Christine finally catches on that something is not quite right with Estelle.

“You’re cursed?” Estelle sighed. She knew, knew it was going to come soon. After meeting Christine for many years, deep down Estelle knew that continuing to meet with Christine would be a bad idea.
“Yes.”
Christine paced around the living room. “I should have known.”
“And I should have told you.”
Estelle was sitting on the couch while Christine was still pacing the room. She had been pacing for the past ten minutes.
“I’m sorry, I should have told you sooner. I knew that you would catch on soon after meeting with you after all these years.”
“All of these years, I cannot believe I never caught on.” Christine finally sat down in her chair at the dining room table.
“I know, I know, I’m sorry,” tears were pooling in Estelle’s eyes. Christine was her only friend. Walking Adurotum was lonely had it not been for Christine.
“Why did you never tell me?”
Estelle had to think for a moment. It never crossed her mind to tell her because she never would have thought she would return to Christine every year.
“I guess I just wanted to protect you.”
“Protect me? By returning every year, and knowing that my family has dealt with the Maledicti? I think you just wanted to use me, for answers.”
‘What? No, of course not. You’re my friend, Christine, my only friend, the one I’ve ever trusted.”
“I won’t hear any more of it. Get out.”
Estelle just stared at her. She could have refused, but she did not. Instead, she gets up, and walks out of the door, not knowing if she will ever see Christine again after this.
